Nissan have been bringing out some really great designs recently, and nothing could prove this more than the Nissan Altima, yet not satisfied with the current car, the design team are already looking to vary to range, first by adding a coupe, which is absolutely fantastic and now to top the range they are going to take the coupe and make it into a convertible.
The market for proper four seater coupe’s have been growing, and the market is pretty tough so Nissan had better get this one right, otherwise the competition will be walking all over them. Nissan has the basis for a superb convertible car, coupled with the Altimas sports styling it is a natural sports saloon, which needs only a few modifications in order for the roof to come off, however it is the process of getting the car ready where it can all fall down, i.e. the body needs to be strengthened how they go about this is the key to success or failure.
The competition is already streets ahead with their models, like the new Volvo C70, which is absolutely stunning, this is the market that Nissan are looking to get into, and their choice of roof could hold the key to that success, do they go with metal or cloth? Time will tell.
