At first sight the new BMW series 1 does appear to have the styling of the current range, normally you would expect the whole range to have some sort unified look, of course being a BMW you always have the double kidney shaped radiator grille, but even that appears to be losing the original shape and becoming slightly rounded.

The series 1 will be on the streets of the US sometime in 2008, so it is not that long to wait to actually get your eyes and hands on one to see what it is like from first hand point of view, but until then you will have to make do with the following information.

This car fits into the vacant space between the mini and the series 3, and will be powered by a 2.0 liter 143 horsepower and a 3.0 liter 265 horsepower engines. There is also the possibility of a convertible, roadster and maybe if they think that there is a market for a two seater coupe, this is a lot cars for just one series, so we shall have to wait and see happens when finally the BMW series 1 turns up on the streets.
