For many motorists the Ford Fiesta has becoming a very common sight on the roads for around thirty years or so, it has been seen as a first car, used by driving schools and many other jobs that only a small reliable car can do, yet could the current model be the last to bear the Fiesta name?
Insiders who are in the know believe so, it is thought that the small Ford car is to be soon replaced by the next generation car, but this time the name will be dropped as the model will now be sold worldwide and the word Fiesta means a variety of terms in different countries, the company are looking to produce a new global branding for this small car which will appeal to all markets especially the US.

They have been researching a few names some of which are, Genesis, Isis, Phoenix and Cuga, but it is possible that some of those are unusable because they are either registered to other car companies or sound like existing car models, like the Cuga, sounds like the Cougar etc.
The problem that ford will have is that by dropping the Fiesta name they will be throwing away a long standing brand, after all it was first release way back in 1976, that is a lot of history and people who have been able to rely on that name as good car, one thing is for sure that Ford will be launching a radically changed new small car in the later part of 2008, what is is going to be called we can only wait and see.
