No this this not a misprint or one of my more crazy ideas, so yes you can really paint your for a mere $50.

So in the real world how much would it cost to completely repaint your car? Well down at the local auto paint shop anything between $300 and $500 for an average job would sound about right, for a basic job, no lacquer or other fancy techniques.

But take a look at this Corvair, looks great to me, yet this is a $50 paint job, and yes it is done by hand and by the owner, but what the hell, its only $50 and the car looks fantastic.

The Charger in this image has been painted in the same manner, so you can see the finish is just a good.

So how is this achieved? The secret product is “Rustolem” this is mixed very thinly and then applied with a paint roller, yes a paint roller! Do a quick search for the product and for people who done this to their cars, you will be surprised in the results.

Clearly nobody is going to paint their BMW and Mercedes with this process, but there are plenty of people out there whose car could do with a bit of a spruce up.

This is not a job to be taking on lightly, you need to have the space and the time to do a decent job of this, so if you have this and your car could do with a little tidying up, then go for it and tell us how you get on!
