Is this a crossover or a stand alone model? The Freetrack is based on the Altea XL, but is really the first ever attempt at an off roader.

Being the 4×4 from Seat, you would have thought that it would have been based on some of the more established 4×4’s like what some over Euro car makers have attempted to produce. Although the Freetrack does utilize the Haldex 4×4 system direct from VW.
Matt black moldings give the car a more rugged look; we have seen these moldings placed on virtually all of these smaller 4×4’s. As for the power, there are options that include, 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol from the Golf GTI, or there is the 2.0 liter turbo diesel.
The differences between the XL and Freetrack sort of end there, they are basically the same, apart from a few badge changes that are located in certain places like the steering wheel, exterior and of course as you would expect the dash has some subtle differences.
Being the first 4×4 for Seat naturally there is going to be some interest from many different sources, however this car is up against some serious competition from VW and there other auto makers who have already ventured into the marketplace and are already on their second generation 4×4, they have ironed out all their teething problems and are ready to get down to business.
