Remember the pink panther cartoon series? In the title sequence there was the pink car, well the very same original car was up for auction on eBay.
This car has a serious pedigree, as it was built by Jay Ohrberg, who has a bit of experience in the film and TV car building industry with the Bat Mobile, KITT and the General Lee all being built by him. The Pink Panther car is located in the UK and will need some work doing to it in order to make it road legal.
The car is based on a Oldsmobile Toronada and is powered by a seven liter, 500 bhp engine. But to make this road legal there will need to be some exterior lights fitted and of course have some license plates.
The auction was being run by online auction house Flogfit4u, but unfortunately the auction has now ended and the reserve, with was not known, and was not met. The highest acceptable bid was for only £15,000. Which is quite low considering the history, but there has been quite a few celebrity cars being auctioned off, most of which have failed to actually materialize into a sale.
No doubt this car will be appearing on an auction page at a monitor near you very soon.
