It is never great to jump all over someone, especially when they have had a bit of bad luck, in this however the case for talking about this has to be fully justified, especially when a State Senator is involved in a accident, that has left one person with minor injuries, and no doubt a whole mess of an insurance claim.

“Big deal” you might say, and you would be probably right, if it was not the case that the accident was caused the senator hitting a 2005 Honda sedan in the rear, there is no arguments there that if you hit someone from behind then it is really your fault, but what if you were on the cell phone at the time? Or in case the senator explains that she was driving along, when the cell phone rang, she reached over to answer it, momentarily taking her eyes off of the road and what was ahead, when suddenly “Bang” she hit’s the car, which was slowing down as it got closer to a junction and a stationary van ahead.

The senator in question, I guess that you must have realized who by now, is Carole Migden D - San Francisco, who happened to have voted for the state bill that fines people for using their cell phones while driving!
It just so happens that as their were no independent witnesses, and so the senator escaped with no citation from the California Highway Patrol, although she was given a breathalyzer test which of course showed that she had not been drinking.
This is a classic example for politicians who vote for laws, only to find themselves under the microscope.
