It is a strange time that we live in, young people appear to have little or no aspirations when it come to owning luxury cars, well that is what you would assume is the reason behind a recent study, taken at 375 universities across the US.

They are asked questions regarding some top brands of car and where the originate from, not where they are made, and the answers that were given back were pretty outstanding, but not in the way that they all managed to get most of the questions right, in fact it was quite the opposite.
33.7 % believed that Lexus is a US car company.
55.7 % believed that Hyundai is a Japanese car company.
40.4 % believed that Saab is a German car company.
49 % believed that Volvo is a German car company.
58.4 % believed that Land Rover is a USA car company.
So what does this tell us? It shows that at this present moment in time that the students who took the survey either have no interest in the this sort of market, or that they are just so engrossed in their work and student life that they do not follow the market, but will at a later date.

But at the same time it has to added that current market details does really make much difference to the historical backgrounds of these car companies, they are old established brands and should be recognized as what they are despite what the student are dong in the present. Maybe the car execs want to get out there and do a bit of PR.
